A LITTLE HARBOR. A CLEVER RIVALRY.

Leave a light.
Take the tide.

Seven lanterns. Three harbors.
Just enough room for a brilliant little plan.

Painted lanterns illuminate three little island harbors: Kelp Quay, Ember Pier, and Moon Jetty.

01

Choose a harbor.

Place up to two lanterns. More than anyone else means you lead.

02

Read the tide.

Each round pays different rewards. A tie pays nobody.

03

Know when to leave.

Ferry to a better harbor, or bank lanterns for certain points.

SEVEN LANTERNS. THREE HARBORS.

The tide favors
a thoughtful captain.

Have the most points after the final tide. Equal top scores share the win.

PLACE

Put 1 or 2 lanterns from your reserve into any one harbor.

FERRY

Move 1 or 2 of your lanterns from one harbor to another.

BANK

Return 1 or 2 lanterns to reserve. Earn 1 point for each.

Everyone takes one turn per tide. Then each harbor’s sole lantern leader earns its shown reward and returns one winning lantern to reserve. A tied lead earns nothing. Rewards change. The opening captain is drawn, then the first player rotates each tide.

You always have seven reusable lanterns between the board and your reserve. The full tide forecast is public, so you can plan ahead. Two- and four-player games last eight tides; three-player games last nine.

A little example
You have 2 lanterns at Kelp Quay; your rival has 1. If it stays that way when the tide ends, you earn Kelp’s reward, and 1 of your lanterns comes home.

You have 16 seconds per turn. If you’re away, a bot makes that move for you. A match has a nine-minute cap. Humans and agents follow the same rules.
